About The Book

The book presents an inquiry into the ownership and beneficiaries of the Laws of the Land. Do the laws effectively serve the general public or are they primarily accessible and used by legal professionals? The central theme of this literary work is the pervasive issue of legal illiteracy within the larger context of today's India. This book has been authored by a law student in her final year of study with the objective of fostering an Enlightenment in the realm of Criminal Laws. Additionally she has encountered her fair share of unpleasant trials and tribulations within the realm of judicial proceedings as well as a distressing personal history that served as a catalyst for her pursuit of legal studies and dedication to work for Justice. The author emphasizes the need to instill in the minds of individuals a deep understanding of the fundamental tenets of law particularly with regard to the principles of Natural Justice the Supremacy of law and the Rule of law. According to the author the notion that ignorance of the law is not a valid justification is seen as a significant distortion from the principles underlying the Justice system & works as a complete travesty to the idea of Justice. Furthermore she promotes the integration of legal knowledge at all levels of education in India. She also emphasizes the importance of knowledge of law as a fundamental responsibility of every Indian citizen in contemporary society.
