Leadership skills in online role-playing games

Leadership skills are required not only in organisations but also in online role-playing games in so-called guilds. Leading a guild is comparable to leading an organisation or a group. Both areas as different as they may be require certain skills in order to successfully achieve their goals. The aim is to find out which skills are needed in organisations and online role-playing games. Which leadership skills are required or used by leaders in organisations and online role-playing games? Furthermore this paper aims to identify the similarities between different areas of organisations and online role-playing games. To what extent are they similar in terms of employee management power influence motivation and loyalty? How are hierarchies and structures similar and what similarities are there in terms of skills development and leadership styles?
