Lean Technology-Application in Indian Textile Industry

This book is based on practical application of Lean technology Indian Textile Industry. The textile industry is an important contributor to the national economy. It has also been leading the export industry in India for decades. The rapid change in fashion designs varying order quantities and increasing quality levels at lowest possible cost and high demand has enforced the textile manufacturer to be focused on more effective and efficient manufacturing processes for survival in an immensely competitive market. The necessity of reducing the cost of production has left manufacturers with the challenge of adopting lean manufacturing where the focus is on waste minimization in a different section. The purpose of this book is to investigate the applicability of lean manufacturing implementation and practices through a real-time case study for the selected textile industry. The analysis is done using a stopwatch technology. Later the result is applied to the industry & checked.
