Leap of Faith was birthed in part from the authors personal experiences and she eventually dropped out of school to escape bullying. Years later a bunch of college students called her son Mark a derogatory name. Mark suffers from deafness and intellectual disabilities and did not understand the impact of those words. But they echoed within his mother reminding her of what she went through. As a way to process these feelings and to help her son she penned these poems about how to be a friend and how to not bully others. The whimsical and heartfelt illustrations beautifully complement the simple but powerful rhymes of friendship and kindness to others no matter their differences. Readers young and old alike will relate to this inspirational message.
