About The Book

My perspective on the domination of the human mind by technology is rooted in the concept of choice architecture. In behavioral economics choice architecture refers to the practice of influencing choice by organizing the context in which people make decisions. Lok suggests that technology companies utilize these principles to nudge users toward specific behaviors often aligning with corporate performance goals.

My argument is that because technology is pervasive it creates a feedback loop where social change influences individual behavior which in turn drives further technological development. Whether my opinion is right remains a subject of academic debate; critics often argue that while his observations on consumer behavior are empirically grounded in economic theory they may underestimate human agency and the capacity for individuals to resist digital influence.
