<p><em>Letters from Art</em> <em>-</em> <em>Art Hawkins Standing Tall under the Shadow of Aldo Leopold </em>traces the life of one of Leopold’s first graduate students Art Hawkins over the course of more than nine decades. Leopold recognized worldwide as the father of wildlife ecology and the concept of a land ethic also played a key role in molding his students in his image and Art proved to be just that. Author Ken M. Blomberg has expertly provided a unique view of history and examples of relationships forged between people and land and to each other through the personal letters and stories of Art Hawkins. Through ordinary accounts of an extraordinary life we are treated to a rich narrative of humanity and beauty not just to the evolution of Art Hawkins including Leopold’s role in this but to the evolution of Leopold’s thinking through his students especially Art Hawkins.</p><p>Author Ken M. Blomberg is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin in Stevens Point (UWSP) with a degree in Resource Management and past Executive Director of the Wisconsin Rural Water Association. Ken is now retired owns a dog kennel near Junction City WI and writes full-time.</p>
