He declares his intention to uphold the doctrines against heretical beliefs invoking the authority of various church councils. Pelagius also communicates with Bishop Sapaudo of Arles expressing gratitude for fraternal greetings and modestly rejecting excessive praise. Additionally he addresses King Childebert condemning those who deviate from the established faith and sending relics of saints as tokens of devotion. </p>
