<p>How they located him he had no idea. More to the point why he agreed to drive through the night and half the day to some little heard of town in the Florida Panhandle was even more perplexing to him.</p> <p>Once he pulled over and thought to turn back only to remind himself there was nothing back there for him ... nine years with nothing to show for it other than a former girl friend and a rent-controlled one room walk-up apartment in the East Village.</p>
