It interprets some of Li Shangyin's popular poems and uses a lyrical and elegant tone to describe his extraordinary and tragic experiences delicately portraying the poet's life of passing through the mountains no place to return to in the four seas no family to rely on poverty and wandering aimlessly.</p><p>全书以晚唐社会为背景，以李商隐在牛李党争的夹缝中求生存为主线，以他对坚贞爱情的追求为副线，间以阐释李商隐一些脍炙人口的诗篇，运用抒情飘逸的笔调，描写了李商隐风流逸奇和虚负凌云万丈才的不幸遭遇，细腻地演绎了诗人厄塞当途、四海无可归之地，九族无可倚之亲、穷困落拓、漂泊无着的一生。</p>
