His ancestral home was Pengcheng (now Tongshan District Xuzhou Jiangsu) and he was the last ruler of the Southern Tang Dynasty.</p><p>This book is a biographical novel about Li Yu. Through the discovery entry into the palace and disappearance of an ancient dance score and with the different fates and experiences of three women around him as secondary threads accompanied by detailed descriptions of the survival status of the Southern Song imperial aristocracy and the glamorous palace life it vividly portrays Li Yu's life from the throne of the Southern Tang Dynasty to a prisoner of the Northern Song Dynasty and ultimately leading to his death due to writing lyrics.</p><p></p><p>李煜(937-978),南唐中主李璟第六子,初名从嘉,字重光,号钟隐、莲峰居士,祖籍彭城(今江苏徐州铜山区),南唐最后一位国君。</p><p>本书为李煜的人物传记小说作品,通过一部古舞谱的发现、进宫、失传这一主线,以围绕在他身边的三位女性不同的命运际遇为副线,佐以南宋皇权贵族的生存状态和艳丽浮华的宫廷生活的细致描写,生动演绎了李煜由南唐王朝的宝座上沦为北宋的阶下囚,并终因写词而招来杀身之祸的一生。</p>
