<p>Among the cultures that disappeared in our lifetime; the Luata Jews lived in Libya since the Phoenician colonization.</p> <p>Libya during the second world war the Luata jews are transfered to the concentration camp of Jado. In Tripoli Sofia Jacobs the grandmother of five finds herself struggling to keep the family alive first under the occupation of the Italians then the Germans then the British and finally the people that she trusted the most the Libyan Arabs. The narrative led by the Jacobs family takes the reader thru the tragic destiny of this indigenous group from its origins to their final expulsion.</p> <p>The author takes the reader thru the tribulations of these poor humble and gentle people as he brings to life the Jewish getto and in it a forbidden love story.</p>
