Life of St. Pachomius

<p><span style=background-color: rgba(255 255 255 1); color: rgba(55 65 81 1)>In this account by Dionysus Exiguus Pachomius a 20-year-old recruit during Constantine's reign witnesses the compassion of Christians while detained for military service. Moved by their faith and kindness he prays for divine guidance and vows to serve God. After being discharged he becomes a catechumen and experiences a profound spiritual awakening. Seeking to become a monk he approaches the ascetic Palaemon who tests his resolve by describing the rigorous lifestyle required. Despite initial fear Pachomius remains determined to endure the challenges ahead bolstered by his faith in Christ. </span></p>
