About The Book

Life on My Side of the Tracks While growing up I never thought of what it would be like to have my own bedroom go shopping and buy lots and lots of clothes. What would it be like growing up with a family that gave you everything you ever wanted? When you are young and naive about what life is really all about it's easy to imagine and think about life and how simple it can be if you could make changes lots of changes. When I was growing up I thought of what I was going to be when I grew up: a cafeteria worker like my mother a teacher like the teachers that treated me bad at school a secretary or even just a mom (after all that's a job too). As you get older things get a little complicated then more complicated when responsibilities go into effect. Living in this little town of Alpine Texas most of my childhood was based on becoming responsible and helping out around the house at a very young age. I began working at the age of 12 to help contribute to the family financial situation. Life on My Side of the Tracks is based on what life is all about on the poor side of town in this little southwest Texas town. Our parents managed to survive raising ten children teaching us good manners moral values and with an environment that was entertaining and inexpensive. Did my siblings and I know the difference? No we were just growing up and enjoying life the best way we knew how.
