The study is quantitative non-experimental descriptive and cross-sectional the objective was to determine the relationship between the lifestyles of the pregnant woman and the nutritional status of the newborn attended in a hospital in Peru. Nola Pender''s Life Profile questionnaire was applied which measures nutrition exercise health responsibility interpersonal support and self-actualization; and the Newborn Nutritional Status Card which measures weight height and gestational age of the newborn; it was used in 108 puerperal women and immediate newborns. It is concluded that the lifestyles of pregnant women are positive in a higher percentage. The weight of the newborn a large percentage is eutrophic and a small percentage of newborns are underweight. The majority of newborns are of normal size few are underweight and few are large. With respect to weight - gestational age the majority of newborns are adequate for gestational age and few are small for gestational age; there are no cases of large newborns for gestational age. Pregnant women with a positive lifestyle have newborns with adequate nutritional status.
