<p>Reading detective Maxine Hill has plenty of relatives but her little cousin Lily Mae Green is very unusual because she spends a lot of time in her backyard exploring insects and birds with her dog Jaxon. Before the school year ends Lily decides to plant a garden. Lily finds herself in an unusual situation when she meets a little pink ladybug named LaVida who teaches her some very important things about life. Every friendship in life is different and sometimes found in the places you never expected.</p>
