Little Lord Fauntleroy

The story is about a young boy named Cedric Errol who lives with his widowed mother in New York City. Cedric is a kind and loving child who is beloved by all who know him. Cedrics life takes a dramatic turn when he learns that he is the heir to a British earldom and must move to England to assume his duties. Cedric and his mother travel to England where they encounter his crusty and curmudgeonly grandfather the Earl of Dorincourt who initially disapproves of Cedric and his American ways. Despite his grandfathers initial reluctance Cedric quickly wins over the hearts of the people around him with his kindness and generosity. He begins to bridge the gap between his grandfather and the rest of the community and in the end the Earl is transformed by Cedrics love and becomes a kind and caring person.
