Lives of the Three Mrs. Judsons

About The Book

The first section of the book is devoted to Ann Hasseltine Judson Adoniram''s first wife who accompanied him on his groundbreaking missionary journey to Burma in the early 19th century. Ann''s unwavering faith resilience during times of illness and efforts in translating religious texts into Burmese are highlighted. Her life is portrayed as a testament to her deep commitment to the missionary cause despite the hardships she faced including imprisonment and the death of her children. The second part of the book focuses on Sarah Boardman Judson who became Adoniram''s second wife after Ann''s death. Sarah had already been serving as a missionary with her first husband George Boardman before marrying Judson. She continued to contribute significantly to the mission''s work particularly in the translation of scriptures and educational efforts all while enduring personal tragedies and health struggles.
