About The Book

<p><em><strong> </strong></em>This book is based on British Caribbean life in Great Britain and serves as a continuation of Judith's first novel *Living in the Unknown Caribbean Way*. Although the events in this book are fictional the narrative is inspired by true occurrences. The first novel depicted the life of Esther who arrived in England in 1956 and later sent for her daughter Margaret to join her. The lives of Margaret and Esther continue in this second book. Following the loss of her husband Anthony Margaret faces the challenge of raising her two boys alone. The question arises: How does Margaret continue to cope with life without him? Additionally Book Two delves into the experiences of the British-born individuals and the Windrush Generation who grew up in Britain from the 1960s to the late 1990s. It reflects on their social lives as they sought purpose and acceptance.</p><p>During the 1970s and 1980s the Diamond Ladies experienced significant changes embracing new careers and partners. As their prominence grew the question remains: Do they bid farewell to the raving scene? In the early years the Windrush settlers adapted to changes fighting against discrimination and advocating for equal rights from the 1960s onward. Clubbing and house parties provided an escape from discrimination and the pressures of working hard during the week offering a sense of relief and grace. Carmel and Richards played a positive role in supporting the community uplifting spirits and combating injustice faced by Black Caribbeans living in the United Kingdom.</p><p> The journey of the Diamond Ladies continues...</p><p> </p>
