Local Development Strategy

About The Book

analyses government procurement policy as a local development strategy mainly through the promotion of locally based micro and small businesses. The survey covers two cases of government procurement in the municipalities of Belém and Paragominas where a questionnaire was applied to 60 (sixty) agents of the population of Micros and Small Entrepreneurs in order to parameterize between these two localities. Secondary data were also collected from documentary sources of municipal statistics from the Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service (Sebrae); the information system of social indicators from the municipalities of the Public Ministry of the State of Pará (MPE/PA) and the Amazon Foundation for the Support of Studies and Research in Pará (Fapespa)
