The local integration of refugees in urban areas is the subject of this study. The analysis of this issue is based on the case of Central Africans in the city of Yaoundé. Based on the assumption that this durable solution is effective the local integration policy in Cameroon is assessed through a dual analysis: that of the legal and institutional framework and that of the legal economic and socio-cultural dimensions of the policy. In the light of the experience of Central African refugees in the city of Yaoundé local integration as a durable solution is a moderately tangible reality in Cameroon's urban environment when we take into account the efforts made by the Cameroonian government and the UNHCR. However it comes up against a number of obstacles sometimes emanating from the refugees themselves sometimes even from the host populations. Each stakeholder certainly has an active role to play in making this integration a truly sustainable solution in Cameroon.
