As the figure slowly reveals himself in Tom's mind she undergoes a journey of transformation inspired by the alchemical process found in Pernety's Dictionnaire mytho-hermétique. Music guides the reader through this transformation as Tom begins to understand her obsession with a city a river and a man that seems to be both. </span></p><p></p>
