Research in self-efficacy has well been established in educational and language field. Correlational studies have shown that self-efficacy beliefs and educational achievement are two related variables which significantly affect one''s achievement and action.Studies found that learners with high self-efficacy are more confident and persevere in confronting difficulties in learning.Neverthelessone academic area that has received little attention from self-efficacy researchers is written composition.For yearslearners have struggled to grasp writing skills and thus studying writing self-efficacy perhaps can warrant a way to improve learners'' writing skills.To datethere are limited researches in writing self-efficacy and they have been correlational so far.Accordinglythis book offers methodological research-based practices related to writing skills and writing self-efficacy to provide a more dynamic approach in researching self-efficacy particularly in the area of writing skills.Different from previous studiesthis book will combine two different approaches namely qualitative and quantitative methods to look into writing self-efficacy.
