Lopsided Laughs

LOPSIDED LAUGHS is a book of 100 humorous poems and illustrations. The book is a collaboration of author Rick Duncan and illustrator/editor Tina Glasner. With his poetry Rick Duncan expresses unique views about many aspects of our experience including the romantic wry embarrassing silly and poignant. Rick specializes in experimenting with rhyme meter and wordplay. Topics vary from observations about the life of an artist love bad habits doctors dentists cats playing games organized religion differences between men and women and much more. Anything inspires him: bar napkins license plates headlines and the odd things people say. He then strives to lend form and grace to the atypical subjects he writes about. This book is for adults who have a sense of fun and love of engaging visual imagery paired with clever writing. This is for people who like puns people in and out of relationships and people who relish a poke at an absurd societys customs. Each poem also comes with a fictional author adding to the complexity of each concept. Because of the triple punch of poem the punning byline and the engaging illustration people will take some time with it so it will appeal to the puzzle solvers among us. The mood ranges from playful to ironic to lovable giving this an added appeal. For LOPSIDED LAUGHS Tina has created art to team with a selection of Ricks poems (some recent some written early in his career) and contributed her editing and book layout skills.
