Lord Teach Us To Pray

<p><span style=color: rgba(94 94 94 1); background-color: rgba(255 255 255 1)>One does not have to read the Gospels very long to see that the Lord Jesus Christ was a man of prayer. Prayer was a huge priority to Christ. Even the disciples saw the power of His life that came through prayer. This prompted them to go to Jesus with the request Lord teach us to pray.</span></p><p><br></p><p><span style=color: rgba(94 94 94 1); background-color: rgba(255 255 255 1)>In reply to this request Jesus gives His disciples a model prayer. Some mistakenly call this the Lord's Prayer. The Lord's prayer is recorded for us in John 17. This is a model prayer that Jesus gave His disciples to teach them the key ingredients of prayer. Our Lord never intended this to be a prayer of vain repetition. This simply gives us the framework for the components of prayer that is pleasing to God.</span></p><p><br></p><p><span style=color: rgba(94 94 94 1); background-color: rgba(255 255 255 1)>May we with the disciples have a desire that God would teach us to pray in a way that honors Him. We live in an age where we talk much about prayer we sing about prayer we hear sermons on prayer but how often do we pray? No Christian is greater than his prayer life. No church is greater than its prayer life. If we desire the power of God in this day and age we must be a people of prayer.</span></p>
