Love and War in the Land of Cain

In 1980s Afghanistan the land where local legend says Cain fled after killing Abel American journalist Elizabeth Owen becomes one of the first female correspondents to journey into the forbidden warzone of the Afghan-Soviet conflict where brother fights brother and son bitterly opposes father. Elizabeths instinctive sisterhood with Afghan women and her growing feelings for Dr. Yusuf an idealistic American-trained Afghan physician who tends both Mujahedeen fighters and innocent civilians force Elizabeth into a struggle with her journalistic objectivity as she seeks the truth about love and war on the battlefield of her own heart.
