<p>Ed Shaughnessy was an American drum legend who for decades was a leading big band force educator and role model for countless young musicians. Doc Severinsen called him the superb engine that drove the Tonight Show Band for thirty years with spirit and immense skill. Quincy Jones said Ed Shaughnessy can play it all from big band to jazz to rhythm & blues to rock & roll. Ed is clearly one of the best drummers of our generation and can really swing in any idiom. I feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to be a part of his life.</p>
