She wished she could make lovely clothes by herself when she grew up ...</p><p></p><p>Huang Daopo an innovator in cotton textile technology was born in Wunijing Songjiang. His birth and death years are unknown. He was a famous cotton weaver and technical reformer during the late Song and early Yuan dynasties. When I was young I wandered to Yazhou Hainan and learned advanced cotton textile techniques from local Li women. After returning to her hometown she passed on her skills to her fellow villagers and played an important role in the development of the cotton textile and planting industries in the Yangtze River Basin. Later generations praised her as the female textile technician of the clothing and bedding world.</p><p>棉纺织技术的革新者黄道婆，松江乌泥泾人，生卒年不详，宋末元初著名的棉纺织家、技术改革家。年轻时流落海南崖州，向当地黎族妇女学习先进的棉纺织技术。后回到家乡，将技术传授给乡亲们，对长江流域棉纺织业和棉花种植业的发展起了重要作用，后人誉之为衣被天下的女纺织技术家。</p>
