Madison Kleighs father is taking a trip to Mars on NASAs newest spacecraft the Excalibur. Overall everybody is excited about the mission; however Madison is having trouble coping. Her fathers mission thrusts her out of her comfort zone into a situation where she has no control over the outcome. As she struggles with her fathers absence a mysterious package arrives containing an extraordinary stone that Madison quickly learns has a unique power. At first the stone is a distraction from her worries about her father until it becomes the center of attention at NASA. Madison learns the secret of her fathers real mission and the stones ability becomes the only means of his safe return. That is if unscrupulous agents working for the corrupted leaders of other countries dont intercept it first.
