MADRAS IN THE OLDEN TIME

In issuing a second volume of "Madras in the Olden Time" as it is depend in the old records of the Madras Government, the Compiler has little to add to the Preface which was appended to the former volume. He has continued to adhere to his design of endeavouring to convey to the reader all the pleasure and information to be derived from a perusal of the original records, without the painful labour of wading through a mass of obsoleted detail.
