Magical Peacock

Long ago a guesthouse stood by a road leading to a city surrounded by a dense forest infamous for wild animal attacks. Few dared to travel the path except those in haste or with no choice. The guesthouse rarely saw visitors and its owner a kind man with a heart of gold often swatted flies to pass time. He treated guests with great respect even letting those unable to pay work off their dues. One day a potter named Samant stayed the night but couldn’t pay. Relying on the keeper's generosity he planned to win his favor with praise.
