When Jonathan first laid eyes on Vickie they were both twelve years old. Ten years later their worlds are still colliding like atoms in a particle accelerator smashing accepted norms and beliefs into bits. After first falling in love surrounded by the fields of maize and hay that give the farmlands of Pennsylvania a fairytale beauty they went their separate ways. Vickie left to study at the Julliard School of Music in New York City while Jonathan chose to stay on his family's farm. Both have been living with broken hearts since their agonizing split. And then while Jonathan rode the horse-driven harvester through his family's lush farmlands Vickie skyrocketed to fame as an international singing star. Making Jonathan's yearning for Vickie and New York City even more powerful is the fact that he is an extremely talented artist and sculptor in his own right. As the years have passed they both have remained haunted by the question of what might have been and whether or not they will ever find their way back into each other's arms. And the fact that he is Amish and she is not is a constant force threatening to pull apart their magnetic fields.
