<p>Kidnapped from his village in Congo Africa…Makandal survived the middle passage and suffered under the brutal whip of the French slave masters in the most profitable colony in the world Saint Domingue. He would escape the plantation and start one of the most effective rebellions in the 18th century.  His quest to free all the enslaved people on the island struck fear in the hearts of the French slave masters.
