MALABOCH

About The Book

This detailed account by a British cleric is the standard work on the little-known Boer Campaign of 1894. to oust the Chief Malabochs tribe from their homeland in the North Transvaal. The campaign was touched off by the refusal of Malboch to pay taxes to the Transvaal in lieu of which he scornfully presented ninw muiserable bullocks to the commissioners who were sent to collect his dues. A military drive was launched against him which succeeded in its objectives. Malaboch himself was captured alive and imprisoned in Pretoria jail. Replete with racist attitudes and terminology this account is unmissable to all interested in the history of black and white relations in South Africa.
