Okra (Abelmoschus esculentus) is attacked by several insect pests among which shoot and fruit borer; Earias vittella jassid; Amrasca biguttula biguttula and White fly Bemisia tabaci are most serious pests which causes 8-90% infestation on fruit of okra depending on the season. Chemical control has played a significant role in managing agricultural insect pests. Hence management of this pest is important. This book provides information about spatial distribution of these insects on different okra cultivars and the efficacy of insecticides for management of major insect pests in okra. Therefore it is desired to study the varietal resistance of okra against the Earias vittella as well as its life table under the laboratory conditions While spatial distribution of Amrasca biguttula biguttula and Bemisia tabaci is also studied in the field conditions to obtain their distribution pattern in order to make a management strategy.
