Managing the Creative Mind

Managing the Creative Mind explores techniques in managing a team of technicians for the production of The Taming of the Shrew. It is also a documentation of a Technical Director’s process. More than the organization of the project it focuses on the people. I wanted to experience what made the technicians tick and test my theories on motivation and efficiency. I kept a log of conversations and happenings for each of the people involved in the production. I made assignment decisions based on my reaction to their personalities and experience. The goal was to make people excited to be there and in turn produce a forward thinking can-do environment where the production would run itself. Included is a script analysis statement of goals process evaluation technical drawings paperwork and photographs.
