Manual of Physical Education in Preschool Education

In recent years interest has increased in the role played by psychomotor development in the evolutionary process of children as this process has a profound influence on their overall development especially in the early stages of life. Through play and movement preschool children acquire new experiences becoming aware of their bodies exploring and interacting with the environment around them. This provides the basis for more complex knowledge developing the basic psychomotor elements for the acquisition of reading writing and mathematics while at the same time gaining confidence and self-confidence putting values into practice which implies growth in the relationship established with children of the same age and with the community. Therefore the practices of matrogymnastics psychomotricity and physical education are very important to promote greater efficiency in the acquisition of new knowledge. From this perspective this guide provides some theoretical bases and practical tools for promoting preschool children's development.
