Given his tumultuous life experience it is no wonder that Professor Wan spearheaded the development of Diaspora Missiology. His cross-cultural missionary service and urban church-planting work built a foundation for Wan to ably lead intercultural studies programs for theological students and institutions. Studying and living in North America with his Chinese background helps explain Wan's formulation of his Relational Paradigm that challenges conceptual Western theology. Moreover Enoch Wan's eventful life has played out against the backdrop of numerous dramatic events of the latter half of the Twentieth Century and first quarter of the Twenty-First including war-torn China Cold War relations and multidirectional migrations. Divine Providence has unmistakably been at work in the life and times of Dr. Enoch Wan. </p>
