​Marine Auxiliary Systems

This book provides a comprehensive guide to the latest (2024) syllabus on Marine Auxiliary Systems as prescribed by the Indian Maritime University for the fourth semester of the B.Tech (Marine Engineering) course. It includes over 150 illustrations to explain the finer details of auxiliary machinery. Two additional chapters on Pipes & Fittings and Pumps have been added to provide essential foundational knowledge. The book also offers answers to all questions on the covered topics that have appeared in examinations conducted by the Indian Maritime University. This book will surely help students in passing the exam and in safely operating auxiliary machinery systems on board ships.​The author graduated in Mechanical Engineering from NIT Bhopal in 1980 and completed his Merchant Navy Pre-Sea Training from MERI Mumbai in 1983. He began his sea career as a Junior Engineer with The Shipping Corporation of India Ltd. and spent over two decades at sea serving as Chief Engineer for more than a decade with Indian and foreign shipping companies. Later he transitioned to academia joining the International Maritime Institute in Greater Noida where he has been teaching for over 18 years. He has also authored a book on Marine Boilers and actively shares his knowledge through his YouTube channel Marine Engineering Tutorials.
