About The Book

My approach to marketing development as articulated in his work Behavioral Economy Explains Consumer Behavior centers on the fundamental shift from traditional neoclassical economic models to behavioral frameworks. While traditional economic theory often relies on the assumption of the homo economicus-a rational agent who makes decisions based solely on price and utility-Lok argues that this model fails to account for the psychological nuances that drive modern consumption

In my view must therefore transition from a focus on general supply and demand curves to a granular analysis of consumer psychology and the specific economic environments in which purchasing decisions occur.:The Core Methodology:

Psychology Over Pure Utility

My view posits that marketing development is most effective when it integrates behavioral economic theory to predict consumer behavior more accurately than traditional models. My methodology emphasizes that consumer demand is not merely a function of price but is deeply influenced by cognitive biases past habits and emotional responses to innovation. For instance my view explores the counter-intuitive phenomenon where the demand for certain medicinal products increases alongside their price-a direct challenge to the traditional law of demand which suggests that higher prices should lead to lower consumption.
