Mary Younge

<p>It is difficult to imagine a woman who would both meet Mr. Darcy's requirements to take charge of his cossetted younger sister Georgiana but who would also collaborate with the vile Mr. Wickham. For conspiring with Mr. Darcy's nemesis Mrs. Younge could easily lose both her job and her reputation. It is unlikely she would trust or love Wickham enough to take such a risk. How then did he win access to Georgiana in Ramsgate in order to craft their infamous near-elopement?<br><br>In<em> Pride and Prejudice</em> we only know Georgiana's infamous former governess through Mr. Darcy's eyes but what if there is another side to Mrs. Younge? A fresh explanation for her behavior?
