Master And Man

Master and Man (Russian: Хозяин и работник) is a story by Leo Tolstoy (1895).It occurred in the seventies in winter on the day after St. Nicholas Day. There was a fete in the church and the landlord Vasili Andreevich Brekhunov a Second Guild merchant being an elder member of the church needed to go to the chapel and had to look after his family members and friends at home. Yet when the last of them had gone he without a moments delay started to get ready to drive over to see an adjoining owner about woods which he had been dealing with for quite a while. He was present in a rush to begin in case purchasers from the town could prevent him from making a beneficial purchase.
