The book is about life of Meerabai who was a 16th century Hindu mystic poet and great disciple of lord Krishna. Her spiritual journey was full of struggles and faced many challenges in her life but she continued her Sadhana with full devotion & dedication at last she got enlightened. Even her family members tried to assassinate her many times but with the blessings of God & Guru she always escaped miraculously and her spiritual journey continued. Despite being from royal Rajput family Mewar (Rajsthan)She accepted Ravidas an underprivileged (Chamar) person of the society as her spiritual Guru.
