<p>Fannie Beers was a northern lady who married a Southern student and moved to New Orleans. Her husband joined the Crescent Rifles when Louisiana seceded and Fannie served as a nurse in Virginia Alabama and Georgia where she earned the sobriquet The Florence Nightingale of the South. She published her memoirs in 1889.</p><p><br></p><p>This book has been re-published from the original text by Tall Men Books. It is not a facsimile reprint. </p>
