Memories and Thoughts

Dr. Benita Yap is a 90-year old mother historian educator and storyteller. In 1945 her husband Catalino opened the doors to St. Anthony Institute (now called St. Anthony College of Technology [SACT]) in Mabalacat. In 1947 Catalino married Benita and together in 1966 co-founded Dau Academy (now St. Mutien College). In 1993 Benita became President when Catalino passed and by 1995 Antonio (eldest son of Benita and Catalino) took the helm as President and founded SACT Graduate School along with other schools resulting into the St. Anthony School System located in one of the largest provinces in the Philippines called Pampanga. With more than 65 years in academia Benita continues to grace her students faculty family friends and colleagues with her continuous sense curiosity and wonder through the pursuit of lifelong learning.
