Given that he was to become a student of human nature with an interest in writing Julian K. Nail could not have grown up in a better place than St. Paul Indiana. Born in 1923 the youngest of seven children he was exposed to story lines even before he started working as a young boy in his father's dry goods store which was something of a central marketplace for the greater St. Paul area.
