MENTAL HEALTH IN OLD AGE: A PSYCHO-GERONTOLOGICAL APPROACH

Psychogerontology is nowadays an interdisciplinary field of study where gerontology and clinical psychology converge. This is due to the fact that the training of the psychogerontologist contemplates the exhaustive knowledge of the sciences of aging and the theoretical-practical knowledge of the techniques of psychotherapeutic approach visualized from a neuropsychological cognitive-behavioral or psychoanalytical current. For this reason this work represents a basic work addressed to students of gerontology psychology and professionals who focus their attention on the elderly person.
