<p>In 1978 I began to develop <strong><em>Formalized</em> Mentoring Programs</strong> to overcome the shortcomings of &quot;do-your-own-thing&quot; mentoring. I've helped over 150 organizations in business and education to collaboratively plan Programs that ensure intended benefits are produced for proteges their mentors and the sponsoroing organization. This does not result from &quot;Announcements&quot; that simply encourage mentoring or from partially-planned &quot;Initiatives.&quot; After discovering this I developed <em><strong>Mentoring for Results Partner Training</strong></em> and 20 customized mentoring materials to train over 20000 mentor-protege <em>partners </em>to develop good relationships that achieve desired outcomes.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>This latest book describes easy-to-understand conceptual models of <strong>Mentoring</strong> (e.g. my <em>Situational Mentoring Model</em>) plus <strong>Skill Coaching</strong> and <strong>Knowledge Solutions</strong> models. In Section 1 you'll learn the <em>collaborative </em><strong>program planning process </strong>I facilitate to decide which conceptual model(s) a particular group of mentoring partners will utilize within a <strong><em>formalized</em> Program</strong>. In Section 2 you'll learn how <strong>Partner Training</strong> produced benefits that satisfy the <em>business case</em> for starting the Program.</p>
