Mesa Verde: Junior Ranger Booklet

About The Book

The Mesa Verde: Junior Ranger Booklet is an interactive educational guide created by the U.S. National Park Service to engage young visitors with the history culture and natural environment of Mesa Verde National Park in Colorado. This program is designed to encourage children to explore the park’s rich archaeological sites including the famous cliff dwellings of the Ancestral Puebloans through a series of activities that promote learning about the park’s history and preservation efforts. The booklet includes a variety of activities such as puzzles drawing exercises and guided observations that focus on the unique aspects of the park including its archaeology geology and the lives of the indigenous peoples who lived there. Children are encouraged to learn about the cliff dwellings the significance of the area to Native American cultures and the challenges of preserving such ancient structures for future generations.
