Metabolic syndrome in Kashmir

Metabolic syndrome is rising globally at a high pace. This syndrome is also increasing the risks of other noncomunicable diseases and the diseases like diabetes and hypertension are in turn increasing the risk of development of this syndrome. With the changes in lifestyle the prevalence of this syndrome is profoundly increasing in developing countries also which already have a huge burden of the communicable diseases. This book throws light on the presence of metabolic syndrome in Kashmir and will help to understand the use of definitions of metabolic syndrome among Kashmiri population.
