Metamorphosis

The story follows the transformation of Gregor Samsa a traveling salesman who wakes up one morning to find that he has been transformed into a giant insect-like creature. As Gregor tries to come to terms with his new form he finds that he is now unable to communicate with his family who view him with disgust and fear. He is forced to live in isolation and becomes increasingly alienated from the world around him. The novella explores themes of identity family and the human condition as well as the absurdity and uncertainty of existence.
